Praying About Finances In Hard Times

The financial news still seems to contain peaks and valleys will lots of valleys maybe still on the horizon.
Worldwide, the high stakes poker game finance has gotten out of control, with extensive use of derivative type products that net great up front fees, but can end up like an unbelievably tangled line that those who have gone deep sea fishing on a party boat may have experienced.
Some of the recent era ideas such as getting a corporate job and riding that wave all the way into the far future have become dicey as well, as jobs at the office can now be farmed out all over the world to eager, willing and talented workers in faraway lands that can obtain good purchasing power locally on often a significantly lower hourly wage.
It is workers without borders and the locals often get crowded out in that scenario.
A lot of money is going into expanded art form formats such as video games which can now be extensively played online and that has become a huge industry yet many people have squashed their own creative juices towards anything like that long ago as they pursued what where then considered more convention studies even if they were to a degree staid, rote and not tapping into what could have been the running wells of the imagination.
In education, pursuit of the higher grades in some subtle ways correspondingly discouraged large forays into realms of the imagination and daydreaming, yet look at how the dreamy world of Harry Potter as in itself become a worldwide industry all spawned from the imagination of one person but even that type of link was not even imaged by the masses as most of them plowed forward into convention..
The disenfranchised worker, the person who seems to have a long way to go to happy finances, might want to look into all possible talents including those that were relatively put down like a fire that shouldn't burn at all never mind brightly or other aspects that have never really been recognized or mined in and through as actual talents.
And one of these talents is to actually pray about finances and get results that are digging out positives and getting some financial footing that feels okay, comfortable and workable and on the sunny side of things as the sun can still be there for you as can the finances.
One major premise found in the Bible is to be more self reliant about individual talents.
Proverbs 5 verse 15 says this," Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well."
Overall there had been and will be, too much deference to the big wigs, who in kingly fashion always seem to know how to find markets and everybody else will follow the leader home to mounds of wealth and prosperity.
This approach has left too many people cowering in the corner, of relying on a thread of hope that somehow they will get on board with this mint corporation, ultra talented individual and catch this great wave and if that doesn't happen, it will be famine instead of feast.
This is the approach has been too much in the prevailing winds rather than maybe relying on a more global and far along vision of your own personal talents that can include a lot more rather than less.
Even if for example you fall into the neat category of Mr. Wall Street, Ms. Lawyer and so on, your talent spectrum will also include more than that and a broader view of talents needs to be cultivated and maintained with the help of the Holy Spirit despite the relatively narrow confines of what you are pursuing now, as it is not and never will be all inclusive of your talents.
The computer expert today would not have even had a chance to be a desktop computer expert 30 year's back pre internet explosion..
There have been economic booms in places like Ireland that have had severe reversals and these booms were based maybe on an endless stream of high tech work that went the other way, and then there just needs to be another dance to bring forth on the ground floor of the Irish Jig which is here to stay just like your talents are..
But a key concept of praying for finances in tough times is the crossover.
What you are doing is not necessarily looking in the rear view mirror, but you are looking for a side view as the road you are on at least at the moment may not be the road.
You can visit the next field over, but this is where many people falter on praying for finances.
Many people have traveled the long and lonely road to nowhere and the figuring is that there is a need to backtrack, start all over again and get to base camp one on something else. Whether it is finances or anything else that you hope to get going in a positive manner or fashion, there may be and indeed are direct crossovers to great things.
It could be positive to positive if need be, like take that nice cruise down the road on the ocean highway and yet finding another lovely road along the beaches.
But ultimately the crossover is the first place to look, seek and hopefully find in the area of finances in prayer.
Any ideas of backtracking, turnarounds, and so on, go with only after investigating the possibility of the immediate crossover.
From the NIV version of the Bible Chapter 11 in the book of Isaiah it says,
15 The LORD will dry up
the gulf of the Egyptian sea;
with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand
over the Euphrates River.
He will break it up into seven streams
so that anyone can cross over in sandals.
16 There will be a highway for the remnant of his people
that is left from Assyria,
as there was for Israel
when they came up from Egypt.
These awesome set of verses specifically cite the crossover which the Lord might have in the first place or will indeed create.
These verses indicate action by the Lord right now.
The "scorching wind" is indicative of the passion of the Lord, towards what he is doing.
And the way you seek and find the passion of the Lord for you and for your finances is through the means of prayer and meditation upon the in the presence of the good Lord.
Praying for finances taps into the passion of the Lord for you and the paths he either already has or can create for you now.
Thank the Lord for his passion for you and your life and for the crossover points he has and is creating for you now.
Your role is to line up within the help and grace of prayer with these paths and to then crossover into these paths in ways that can be rather immediate and rather real.
Two major points of emphasis in praying about finances is the crossover, found in the passionate and personal hand of the Lord for you and a better view of your own talents, talents already with you and in hand, that in some other ways you can activate and reactivate into the still changing landscape of today.
